Fenty Beauty has decided that the back of a phone is prime real estate for lip gloss, as Rihanna's make-up brand has teamed up with Casetify on a limited-edition collection that clips miniature versions of its best-known products straight onto a smartphone. Fenty Beauty x Casetify runs to 29 pieces, 16 of them Casetify exclusives, spread across protective cases, MagSafe accessories, straps and charm hooks, and it pairs mini Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer and Invisimatte Instant Setting + Blotting Powder with the accessory brand's hands-free technology. The collection went on sale internationally on 28th October through both brands' websites, which means a quick touch-up no longer requires anybody to dig around the bottom of a handbag.

The centrepiece of the range is the On-The-Go Essentials MagSafe 2-in-1 Holder, a soft-touch silicone accessory in a shade called cocoa nude that attaches magnetically to a phone and holds a mini Invisimatte and a mini Gloss Bomb. It costs $42 on its own, or $70 as the MagSafe Holder, Gloss + Blot Bundle with a 4g mini Invisimatte and a 5.5ml mini Gloss Bomb in RiRi, which Fenty describes as a shimmering rose mauve nude, with Hot Chocolit and Fu$$y offered as alternative shades. The holder needs a MagSafe-compatible phone or case to stay in place, which is where the rest of the collection comes in.

The cases include the $64 Perfect Case, which has a granite frame and a built-in mirror for touch-ups, offers 4.9ft of drop protection and is offered for the iPhone 16 Pro, 17 Pro and 18 Pro in both standard and Max sizes. The $64 Ripple Case is made from cocoa nude soft-touch silicone with puffed corners and 6.6ft of drop protection, while other designs carry graffiti-inspired graphics, prominent Fenty branding and a hand-drawn lip motif, with tablet and earbuds cases in Midnight and Big Kiss designs completing the tech side of the range. A Casetify spokesperson explained that the team "focused on true utility over novelty, pairing a sturdy Mirror Case with detachable MagSafe docks" and said the collaboration "unites Fenty's 'Beauty for All' ethos with Casetify's 'Show Your Colours' platform" which sums up the meeting of the two brands.

The phone case attracted some teasing before it went on sale, with an early look at the case in October led commenters to call it "big and ugly" and to joke that a case carrying powder should really be called a "powder bank" instead. One reviewer who tried the finished holder on launch day wrote "I'll be honest, I was surprised by how lightweight yet sturdy the phone holder is" although she also warned that "It's fairly bulky, so don't expect it to slip neatly into your jeans pocket" which seems a fair trade for having a lip gloss permanently within reach.
