what is the podcast?

The PR Hotline is a podcast for people working in PR and marketing who want real conversations, not recycled advice or surface-level tips.

In each episode, we unpack a genuine issue facing people in the industry right now. That might be burnout, difficult clients, freelancing without a safety net, redundancy, or the pressure of working in roles that never really switch off. Then we break down a campaign that genuinely worked, looking at why it landed, what made it cut through, and what you can actually take from it in your own role.

It’s the call you make when you need perspective. Or reassurance. Or just proof that you’re not the only one figuring this out as you go.

how the podcast works...

We start with a genuine issue affecting PR and marketing professionals right now. These are the challenges that tend to sit quietly in the background of a busy week, burnout, difficult client relationships, freelancing without the safety net of a team, redundancy, or the pressure of working in roles that rarely feel fully switched off. They’re common experiences, but that doesn’t make them easy to navigate.

We take the time to explore these topics properly, sharing practical perspective drawn from real experience and the realities of working in the industry.

In the second half, we focus on a campaign.

Each guest brings one they admire, and we unpack it properly, looking at why it worked, what made it cut through, how it was executed, and what gave it momentum. We talk about the thinking behind it, not just the headline result.

Most importantly, we look at what you can realistically take from it in your own role, whether you’re in-house, agency-side or freelance. The aim isn’t to hold up “perfect” work. It’s to understand what made it effective and how those lessons translate into real-life PR and marketing teams.
