Key Takeaways

  • Ring Pop has created its first wedding collection with celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss as creative director.

  • The range includes watermelon, citrus and strawberry sweets presented as lighter-toned gems on pearl-white rings.

  • Individual wrappers feature wedding phrases including “Pop the Question”, “I Said Yes” and “Off the Market”.

  • The collection launched on 15 September through David’s Bridal, IT’SUGAR, Amazon and Walmart, with wider US retail expansion planned for early 2027.

Long before most people had heard of engagement shoots, personalised wedding favours or proposal planners, children were already dropping to one knee in playgrounds and presenting their friends with an enormous jewel-shaped sweet. Ring Pop may never have been designed as bridal jewellery, but generations of playful proposals, party-bag appearances and nostalgic wedding photographs have gradually made it part of the celebration anyway.

Now, the brand is making that unofficial relationship with weddings official through its first Wedding Collection, created with celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss. The familiar brightly coloured sweet has been given a bridal makeover, replacing its classic plastic finish with softer gemstone shades, pearl-white rings and romantic packaging created for proposals, hen parties, wedding favours and even the morning after the ceremony.

Ring Pop has kept everything people instantly recognise about the sweet, from the oversized gemstone shape to the bright, fruit-flavoured candy, but reworked the details to make the collection feel much more at home inside a modern wedding.

The three flavours have all been given romantic new names for the occasion, with First Kiss Watermelon, Main Squeeze Citrus and Berry in Love Strawberry appearing as softer-coloured gems on pearl-white rings. Each sweet is individually wrapped with phrases including “Hard Launch”, “Love Story”, “I’m Yours”, “Off the Market”, “Pop the Question”, “Ring it On” and “I Said Yes”, turning the packaging into part of the fun rather than something couples need to hide when styling their celebration.

The sweets are being positioned for engagement boxes, bridal showers, hen parties, welcome bags, dessert tables, place settings, reception favours and even recovery kits for the following morning, giving couples plenty of ways to bring them into the celebrations without pretending that they are anything more serious than a playful, nostalgic extra. They have also been designed not to stain lips or teeth, which may feel like a small detail but is an important one for a product created for a day when everybody is being photographed constantly. It shows that the collection has been designed with real weddings in mind, rather than simply placing romantic phrases on existing Ring Pops and calling them bridal.

The Wedding Collection is available through Amazon and David’s Bridal, with a wider US retail rollout planned for early 2027. Launching through David’s Bridal gives the collection a little more credibility within the wedding space because couples can discover it while they are already shopping and planning, as well as the online release making it easy to order enough for a full wedding party or guest list.

Why Ring Pop and Mindy Weiss were the perfect match for a wedding collection

Ring Pop did not really need to convince anybody that it belonged in weddings because consumers had already made that connection for the brand. The sweet has appeared in pretend childhood proposals, engagement photographs, hen-party bags and wedding favours for years, gradually becoming an unofficial part of the wedding journey without ever having a collection created specifically for it.

"Ring Pop has always been a symbol of celebration, and lately, of love," says Joanna Firestone, Marketing Director at Bazooka Brands. "Over the years, we've watched Ring Pop organically become part of the wedding journey - from engagements, to bachelorettes, showers, and weddings. With the wedding industry booming and packaging aesthetics mattering more to consumers than ever, it felt like the right moment to make it official; And there was no better partner than celebrity wedding planner, Mindy Weiss. She helped us bring this collection to life in a way that's authentic to who we are, but elevated enough to belong in anyone's wedding story."

Bringing in celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss helped Ring Pop make that move without losing the humour and nostalgia people already associate with it. Weiss has spent more than three decades creating weddings and celebrations, so she understands how even a very small detail needs to fit within the wider look and feeling of the day. As creative director, she worked across everything from the first packaging conversations to the campaign launch, helping develop the softer gemstone colours, pearl-white rings and phrases created for different points in the celebration.

Why The PR Insider loves it

We love when campaigns are rooted in existing behaviour so it feels relevant and interesting to its target audience. Ring Pop did not need to invent a reason to appear at weddings when couples had been using the sweets for proposals, hen parties, photographs and favours for years. The brand has simply paid attention to that behaviour and made the product feel more considered for the occasion, improving the colours, packaging and smaller details without losing the humour or childhood nostalgia that made people want to include it in the first place.

It also understands that a wedding is no longer just one day or one ceremony, but a full series of celebrations stretching from the proposal and hen party to the welcome bags, reception and slightly fragile morning afterwards. That gives the collection far more places to appear, creates plenty of natural moments for photographs and allows one simple, inexpensive product to become part of the entire wedding journey.
