Pringles offers one die-hard fan a can-shaped urn and 200 years of crisps in its Once You Drop Halloween campaign

Key Takeaways
Pringles has launched Once You Drop, a Halloween campaign that asks US fans to pledge to be buried in a Pringles can.
One winner will receive a one-of-a-kind, personally engraved urn shaped like the Pringles can, plus an "afterlifetime" supply of Pringles covering 200 years.
Entries are open at OnceYouDrop.com from 13 October to 22 October 2026 for legal US residents aged 18 or over, with the winner notified around 31 October.
The campaign is fronted by real funeral director Dan the Funeral Man and inspired by the Pringles can inventor, whose ashes were buried in a can in 2008.
This Halloween, Pringles is finding out exactly how far its famous promise of snacking without stopping really stretches. Its new Once You Drop campaign invites fans to sign a "will and taste-ament" pledging to be buried in a Pringles can, with one entrant set to win a can-shaped urn of their own and enough crisps to outlast them by roughly two centuries.
The idea is less far-fetched than it sounds. When the inventor of the famous tube died in 2008, his family buried part of his ashes inside a Pringles can, as he had asked. Pringles has now turned that slightly macabre piece of snack history into a giveaway, fronted by a funeral director who has become a TikTok star.

The campaign centres on a film starring Dan the Funeral Man, a real funeral director who posts as @DanTheFuneralMan. He inspects a casket and explains that the man who invented the Pringles can was laid to rest in "his own iconic invention", before inviting one fan to win the chance of a similar send-off. The film runs across social channels and online video.
Fans enter by signing the will and taste-ament at OnceYouDrop.com, pledging to be buried in a Pringles can when they eventually "drop", and can download a seal of commitment to share on social media while tagging @Pringles. Entries opened at 9am ET on 13 October 2026 and close at 11.59pm ET on 22 October, after which one winner will be chosen in a random drawing and notified around 31 October. The giveaway is open to legal residents of the 50 US states and Washington DC who are 18 or older, and no purchase is necessary.
The prize itself is a one-of-a-kind metal urn, personally engraved for the winner, with a removable lid that mirrors the Pringles can silhouette. Dan Kelly, executive creative director at BBDO New York, said the design "balances the unmistakable look and feel of Pringles with thoughtful design touches and the durability needed for its intended purpose as a real-life urn". Alongside the urn comes an "afterlifetime" supply of Pringles worth 200 years, which the winner can pass on to someone of their choosing.
The campaign was created by BBDO New York and Weber Shandwick. Allyson Hoar, executive creative director at Weber Shandwick, said, "As an actual funeral director, he brings real-world experience, a unique sense of humor, and a playful spirit to this campaign."
Once You Drop follows last year's Duck King relaunch and Sabrina Carpenter's Pringles Super Bowl LX ad
Fredric J. Baur, who designed the Pringles can, died in Cincinnati on 4 May 2008 at the age of 89, and his family honoured his request by burying part of his cremated remains in a Pringles can in a grave in suburban Springfield Township. His son Larry later explained that the family bought the can at a Walgreens hours before the burial, and Once You Drop now offers that send-off, in slightly shinier form, to one fan.
The Halloween effort is also the latest chapter in Pringles' "Once You Pop, the Pop Don't Stop" platform, which brought back the brand's classic tagline last year with a spot called Duck King. In February 2026 the line reached the Super Bowl for the first time since its revival, as BBDO New York's Super Bowl LX ad paired Sabrina Carpenter with Pringleleo, a love interest built entirely from Pringles.
Mauricio Jenkins, salty snacks brand and content lead at Mars Snacking North America, said, "Leaning into Halloween's dark humor and Gen Z's taste for absurdist storytelling, we're putting Pringles on the salty side of Halloween and rewarding the ultimate fan in the most lasting way possible — by making the Pringles can part of their legacy."
