Xfinity has found a new use for the word GOAT. The connectivity brand has teamed WNBA star Caitlin Clark with Sesame Street's Cookie Monster on a mission to bake the "Greatest Cookie of All Time", a pairing LBB describes as two GOATs in one kitchen.

The spot is one of the first big releases from Xfinity's rebuilt in house creative team, and it deliberately leaves the court behind. Instead of dunks and deep threes, it shows Clark as a keen baker and cookie fan, with Sesame Street's resident cookie obsessive as her kitchen partner.

The film follows Clark and Cookie Monster as they chase cookie perfection, with Xfinity's network supporting every stage of the process. According to LBB, that includes researching recipes, refining ingredients and keeping the pair connected through interruptions, which, given one half of the partnership, presumably involves a fair amount of disappearing dough.

The idea came from a simple question asked under Xfinity's Imagine That platform, namely what would happen if Clark teamed up with Cookie Monster, powered by Xfinity's network, to bake the GOAT cookie. LBB reports that the team's strategy started from the observation that basketball fans now follow players well beyond the game, while most brand storytelling still stops at who an athlete is on the court. Xfinity wanted to show how Clark connects to what she loves away from it.

The work was directed by Dayton/Faris through Bob Industries, with editing by WORK USA and music and sound from Q-Department. Sesame Street and The Jim Henson Company are both credited on the production, and on the Xfinity side the work was led by chief creative officer Julie Scelzo, managing director Otto Linwood and Steve Peck. Xfinity's in house organisation is now responsible for strategy, creative and production across the brand, and LBB describes this campaign as among its first major work.
