Key Takeaways

  • Mattel has named Amita Rao and Owen Thiele, co-stars of the FX comedy Adults, as hosts of the 2026 UNO Championship Series Tournament.

  • The pair will provide live commentary on Twitch from Los Angeles on Wednesday 11th November 2026, as players compete for a $50,000 grand prize and the title of 2026 UNO Champion.

  • Seven finalists earned their places through in-person qualifiers in Kissimmee, Chicago and El Segundo and through tournaments on the UNO! Mobile app.

  • The finals bring together 48 players, with the seven qualifiers joined by invited creators, influencers, brand fans and international players.

Amita Rao and Owen Thiele are taking a break from the questionable decisions of Adults to watch people make some very consequential ones with a Draw 4. Mattel has named the pair, who play Issa and Anton in the FX comedy, as hosts of its 2026 UNO Championship Series Tournament, with live commentary on Twitch from Los Angeles on 11 November. Players will compete for $50,000 and the title of 2026 UNO Champion, which is considerably more than most of us have ever gained from an argument over the rules.

For anyone who knows Rao and Thiele through Adults, a show about a group of friends attempting to navigate their twenties together, the move into competitive UNO feels like a reasonable escalation. Friendship already involves knowing when to support someone and when to make their life considerably harder, and UNO helpfully puts both options in the same hand.

The pair announced the hosting gig in a short teaser promising that “Greatness will be dealt”, bringing a suitably dramatic introduction to a game capable of turning a perfectly pleasant evening into a personal grievance. With Issa and Anton’s real life counterparts on commentary and $50,000 riding on the result, Mattel has given Adults fans another reason to watch people fall out over something that has got completely out of hand.
