Key Takeaways

  • Athletic Brewing Company, America's largest dedicated non-alcoholic brewer, has teamed up with olive oil brand Graza.

  • Together they have created Cold Off The Press, a limited-edition non-alcoholic pils brewed with Graza Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

  • The beer is under 0.5% ABV and 60 calories per 12oz can, with floral, herbal and lemon aromas and a clean, dry finish.

  • It launched on 23 September 2026 in six-packs of 12oz cans, sold exclusively through athleticbrewing.com while supplies last.

Olive oil has already been drizzled over ice cream, mixed into cocktails and turned into one of the internet’s favourite kitchen accessories, although Athletic Brewing Company and Graza may have found its most unexpected destination yet: a can of non-alcoholic beer.

The two brands have collaborated on Cold Off The Press, a limited-edition pils brewed using Graza Extra Virgin Olive Oil, although drinkers should not expect it to taste like olives. Instead, the oil supports the yeast during brewing without leaving its familiar flavour behind, giving Athletic a genuinely useful reason to experiment with an unconventional ingredient while allowing Graza to demonstrate just how far olive oil can travel beyond the kitchen.

Cold Off The Press is a bright non-alcoholic pils brewed with Graza Extra Virgin Olive Oil, which is used to nourish the yeast during production without creating an olive flavour in the finished drink. Instead, the brands describe herbal aromas accompanied by floral and lemon notes, followed by a clean, dry finish, while the complete ingredient list combines water, malted barley, rice, hops, lemon, yeast, olive oil and wheat.

Each 12oz can contains less than 0.5% alcohol, alongside 60 calories, 14g of carbohydrates and no fat or protein. Although the olive oil plays a functional role during brewing, its presence still provides the idea with an immediate hook, while the Cold Off The Press name brings the two categories together by referencing both cold-pressed olives and the appeal of opening a cold beer. The packaging makes that crossover equally clear, replacing the darker colours and traditional typography often associated with craft beer with an electric green can covered in hand-drawn olives, hops, droplets, hands and tiny characters. Graza’s playful pantry aesthetic is carried through the illustrations and chunky lettering, while Athletic’s blue details ensure the beer brand remains visible within a design that could otherwise look as though it had been lifted from a well-stocked kitchen cupboard.

Cold Off The Press went on sale through Athletic Brewing’s website on 23 September 2026, with the limited batch released in six-packs of 12oz cans while stocks lasted. John Walker, co-founder and COO of Athletic Brewing Company, said the brewer was willing to pursue ideas that sounded “a little wild” when there was a chance they could lead somewhere delicious, while Graza co-founder and CEO Andrew Benin described the beer as one of the most adventurous places the company had taken its olive oil.

Graza gives Athletic Brewing a food-culture story beyond alcohol-free beer

Graza was founded in 2021 and has become the fifth-largest olive oil brand in the US in around four years, largely by treating a dusty kitchen staple as something with personality. A beer is a logical next stop for a brand whose whole pitch is that olive oil deserves more attention than it gets. As Benin put it, the team is "constantly looking for creative ways to show how versatile olive oil can be.

Athletic receives a different benefit from the collaboration, as the crowded non-alcoholic beer category means brands increasingly need more than another promise that their products taste similar to conventional beer. Partnering with a food brand allows the brewer to enter conversations around ingredients, cooking and entertaining, while the involvement of extra virgin olive oil gives people a much more specific reason to become curious about this particular pils.
