The Home Depot launches a $29.99 holiday sweater with tool-stocked apron pockets

Key Takeaways
The Home Depot has launched its first-ever Holiday Sweater, a limited-edition novelty jumper with the retailer's orange apron pockets on the front.
The pockets come stocked with more than $150 worth of tools and accessories from Husky, DEWALT, Command and Milwaukee, plus a $50 peppermint-scented gift card.
The sweater costs $29.99 in unisex sizes XS to XXL, with drops on 1 October at 11am ET and 15 October, limited to one per customer.
It launched alongside The Home Depot's 2026 Holiday Decor Collection, which arrives in US stores from the week of 5 October.
Most Christmas jumpers get an outing at the office party or on Christmas Jumper Day before being folded away until next December, but The Home Depot has made one that could also come in handy when putting up the decorations. Its new Holiday Sweater features pockets inspired by the retailer’s famous orange apron, complete with a screwdriver, tape measure, pliers, headlamp and spirit level.
The limited edition sweater is the first The Home Depot has ever sold and launched alongside its 2026 Holiday Decor Collection. Priced at $29.99, it comes with more than $150 worth of tools and a $50 gift card that smells of peppermint, giving people plenty to talk about beyond the decorations themselves.

The sweater puts The Home Depot’s own spin on the American “ugly holiday sweater”, combining a novelty Christmas jumper with the orange apron worn by its store associates. The pockets are filled with tools to help customers put up their festive decorations, including a Husky screwdriver, tape measure, slip joint pliers and rechargeable LED headlamp, alongside a DEWALT spirit level and Command clear outdoor light clips for hanging lights without nails.
There is also a Milwaukee mechanical pencil with ten replacement leads, which the brand suggests using to mark out gift wrapping or get the stockings in just the right place. A peppermint-scented $50 Home Depot gift card completes the package, bringing the total value of the contents to more than $150. At $29.99, the sweater has a practical appeal that goes well beyond wearing it to the office Christmas party.
The first batch went on sale at 11am ET on 1 October through The Home Depot’s dedicated event shop, with a second release scheduled for 15 October while stocks last. It comes in a unisex fit, with sizes from XS to XXL, and purchases are limited to one sweater per customer.
How the sweater fits The Home Depot's 2026 Holiday Decor Collection
The sweater gives The Home Depot an eye catching way to introduce its wider 2026 Holiday Decor Collection, which is already available online and arrives in US stores from the week of 5 October, with fresh cut trees following in November. The range includes updated versions of its Grand Duchess artificial trees in 9ft and 7.5ft sizes, now connected to the Hubspace app so customers can customise their displays from their phones. Memory wire and Quick Set technology are also designed to make the trees easier to assemble and light.
The outdoor range includes a 6.5ft animated LED Santa that can be controlled through an app, alongside an 8.5ft LED version for anyone planning a bigger display. The retailer has also introduced its first limited edition holiday buckets, priced at $2.98 and designed for decorating, gifting and seasonal projects. The two gallon buckets became available online on 1 October and arrive in stores from mid October, with seasonal offers on power tools, smart home products and entertaining essentials following from 29 October.
Aubrey Horowitz, merchant of decorative holiday at The Home Depot, said, "This holiday season, we're helping our customers turn their biggest holiday ideas into reality," whether that means building a showstopping outdoor display or getting the house ready for hosting. Seen against that range, the sweater does a similar job in miniature, bundling the tools needed to hang lights, level a wreath and wrap presents into one wearable object that also happens to be the brand's most recognisable uniform.
